Green is certainly the way of the future and this forum offers many green building options which are fantastic. But are we being as green as we can when we are putting up buildings using green materials with machinery that still pollutes our skies? Most construction equipment used today is still powered by gasoline or diesel engines spewing noxious gases into the skies. There are equipment suppliers out here who offer alternatives. How many readers have done their homework? Electric power or Ultra Low Emissions exhaust systems are the green alternative. Do some investigating, It's good for the environment.....good for you.

  • Brynn Davis Thank you Rob for bringing this up. You are so right. There are many manufacturers that make green products but their manufacturing process is anything but green! So how green are the products really then?

  • Kristine Leyton What testing is in place to certify that manufacturers and machinery are using "green standards"? How would we know?

  • Rob Leggitt Is anyone aware of "green standards", I know I'm not, but they would be a good tool for guidance. In the absence of these standards it's really up to each of us individually to learn and do whatever seems like the environmentally responsible way. Reduce, Re-use, recycle.

  • Flynn Sutherland Check out certification under the resources tab on this site....there seems to be a good list...not sure if it has what you need but it's a start.
