1. Air Transfer/ Airtightness
2. Convective Looping
3. Thermal Bridging
One of the easiest ways to understand these three areas is to look at two side by side wall systems. One built from a conventional stick framed building, alongside one built with an advanced building product like SIPS (Structural Insulated Panels).

Joseph Kirsch I think the answer to you question is cost. We need to understand what the cost is...with the economy the way it is, every penny counts. We stick with what we know until there is a compelling reason to change. Not so sexy but reality.

John Marks When the cost is less than pink and blue boards ? Like one Energy Pro specialist said at the seminars in Feb, " most people are PINK PANTHERIZED" PLEASE, see that website ! I have heard nothing but great things about this. There is 3 things that come to mind I wish they would take off the market. 3 tab shingles,styrofoam board, and fiberglass insulation(they have cancer labels on the side of every bag)
